1. Information We Collect

When you create a GrassDB account, we collect:

Account information: your name, email address, and optionally your phone number.
Database content: the data you store in your GrassDB-managed PostgreSQL databases.
Usage data: connection activity, storage usage, and query execution metrics used for billing and service monitoring.

2. How We Use Your Information

Account management: to authenticate you, manage your databases, and communicate about your account.
SMS notifications: if you provide a phone number, we will send you account notifications, security alerts, and service updates via SMS. Message and data rates may apply.
Service operation: to monitor platform health, enforce connection limits, track storage usage, and generate daily operational reports.
Security: to detect unauthorized access, verify email addresses, and process password resets.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your account credentials are stored in our metadata database on Azure Database for PostgreSQL with SSL encryption in transit.
Passwords are hashed using PBKDF2 and are never stored in plaintext.
Your database content is stored on Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server in the East US 2 region.
Each tenant's data is isolated using PostgreSQL role-based access control.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

Microsoft Azure: infrastructure provider for database hosting and compute.
SendGrid (Twilio): for transactional email delivery (verification, password reset, daily reports).

5. Data Retention

Your account data and database content are retained for the life of your account. If you delete a project, the associated database is dropped from the server. If you wish to delete your account entirely, contact us at the email below.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. We will respond within 30 days.
